Justin L. Templin joined the Firm in 2002. Mr. Templin’s diverse practice includes acting as the City Attorney for the City of Maple Grove, attending official meetings and advising staff, departments, and officials on a range of matters including contracts, ordinance interpretation and enforcement, data practices, and land use and zoning issues.
Mr. Templin has successfully managed multi-million-dollar procurement projects as special counsel on behalf of city governments, and has significant experience in negotiating complex contracts. He is a frequent speaker on land use and development for continuing legal education and professional development organizations, and he has extensive experience conducting training on data practices, the Open Meeting Law, and ethics matters.
Mr. Templin represents Minnesota cities through the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust in the litigation and dispute resolution of complex land use and constitutional matters, including several notable appellate cases.
In addition to public sector representation, Mr. Templin assists private entities and individuals in a variety of business matters, including serving as corporate counsel, drafting and revising operating and employment agreements, asset sales and acquisitions, and navigating corporate reorganizations.
Mr. Templin brings his variety of experience to the table as a Minn. R. Gen P. 114 qualified neutral.
Mr. Templin has been an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School since 2004, where he teaches legal research and writing.
